Presentation: Play at Different Ages
From Piaget to Parten, this session will discuss the developmental stages and theories of childhood play and how they can be applied in formal and informal learning landscapes. Through hands-on experiences, participants will engage with play theories associated with children from birth to elementary school, as well as, an adult's role in the development of play. By the close of the session, participants will uncover their own "play personality" and how this trait can be asset to not only the children they support, but also their personal and professional adult lives.

Presentation: Analog Math in a Digital World
With the recent meteoric rise of technology, mathematics has risen in power. Today, we value mind over body, digital over paper, and white collar over blue collar, the effects of which have impacted all aspects of our lives. And yet, our bodies speak against this belief, craving the analog senses. We consider this tension through the lens of mathematics and education.

Presentation: Tapping the Power of Play Within
"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere”, said Albert Einstein. In this session, much like Astronauts explore outer space, we as Psycho-nauts will explore the depths of inner space. While our culture tends to venerate action and vilify reflection, by going within and tapping into another way of knowing and being, we can access a whole new world, enter a flow state, while augmenting the active learning cycle with the power and promise of self-reflection. Using breathwork, guided imagery, and auto-suggestion we can enter "imagine-nation", get out of our heads and into our hearts, as well as make learning not just an intellectual pursuit but an authentic embodied experience, tapping into our courage, compassion, and wisdom.

Presentation: How Many Ways Can You Play?
How many ways can you play? This presentation will demonstrate the unique factors of play with diverse populations. We’ll discuss why it might be difficult for some children with differing needs to engage in typical play activities such as back and forth turn taking or pretend play. We’ll find ways to get creative, strengthen our communication skills and nurture our pathway towards self – expression. Be prepared to experiment, have fun and maybe get a little messy!
