This early morning event is a welcoming, comfortable environment for your child and family to enjoy the Museum in a quiet and accepting setting. We encourage families to make connections and share resources.

Sensory Friendly Museum Morning starts at 9:00am, 30 minutes prior to the public. Sunday mornings are generally quiet and not busy until 11:00am. Alternate quiet times are daily after 2pm.
Guests like to visit our Book Nook (behind the front desk), Welcome Garden (located outside to the north of the front door), or indoor Classroom as a place for calming and recentering.
Noise Cancelling Headphones
Noise Cancelling Headphones are available for check out from the Front Desk througout the day.
Designated Take A Break Space
During Sensory Friendly Mornings, one side of the indoor classroom is a designated area to take a break. There is a curtain partition and closeable doors. Feel free to lower the lights, turn on some calming music, or enjoy a variety of simple toys and sensory objects.
