Final Harvest Moon Silhouette.

STREAM Activity: Harvest Moon Silhouette

Capture the Harvest Moon in a Painting!
Activity best for children ages three and up

Equinox occurs around September 22 or 23, when the Sun crosses the equator, resulting in nearly equal lengths of day and night. As fall progresses, the tilt of Earth’s axis causes the nights to lengthen and the days to shorten, culminating in the longest nights of the year during the winter. Today’s painting will capture the imagery of a harvest moon silhouetted against the fall night sky, symbolizing the transition into the season’s darker, cooler months!
