Follow the exciting life of a worm in Diary of a Worm. This worm is just like you and me, he’s got homework, chores and a spider as a best friend! Then, create your own wiggly, worm friend.
For this fun and simple activity, children will get the opportunity to create their own paper pet worm! They’ll have the freedom to choose different colors and the materials to express themselves and develop their creative and artistic skills. The accordion style folding provides an opportunity for them to develop their fine-motor skills, problem solve, and experiment with where the fold affects the look of their worm. Once they’ve finished folding, they can decorate their worm with a fun face and have a wiggly companion! The fine motor skills including in the week’s activity can help grow the ability to perform everyday skills like self-care tasks (e.g. clothing fastenings, opening lunch boxes, cleaning teeth, using cutlery) and academic skills (e.g. pencil skills of drawing, writing and coloring, as well as cutting and pasting).
